Associate Commissioning Professional
The Associate Commissioning Professional (ACP) can be a stepping stone to Cx Providers starting their journey in this profession. Once they study for, take and pass the ACP test, they can use their proven knowledge to commission projects, using the profession’s best practices, until they are able to qualify for the CCP
Certified Commissioning Professional
The Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) is an individual who leads, plans, coordinates and manages a commissioning team to implement commissioning processes in new and existing buildings. CCPs have demonstrated knowledge, experience, and passed a rigorous exam on the commissioning process and technical knowledge needed to provide a quality service.

"I became aware of building commissioning initially in the early 1990's when I was working for a controls contractor firm and suddenly there was a requirement that I demonstrate the systems actually work per the design on some of the larger healthcare and telecom projects I was working on. As time went on, and my career transitioned from controls contractor to consulting engineering, I learned the value of building commissioning first hand. As building owners also began realizing the benefits of commissioning in the building process, I decided to see if I could enhance my skills by learning more about building commissioning and who the industry leader was. I was seeing RFP's populated with the Building Commissioning Association as an acknowledged authority in the process by this time, so I did some digging on my own to find out more about the association. It didn't take long to realize, that in my opinion, the BCA was light years ahead of other organizations in both substance and training and I wanted to be a part of that group. It took some time and effort, but one of my proudest moments in my career was when I was awarded my CCP designation."

"The BCxA CCP certification has proven to be an asset in my Commissioning profession in many ways. The certification has helped me distinguish myself as a Commissioning provider that is recognized for knowing the Commissioning process as well as had experience in the field that can be used for all projects I encounter. More and more projects I see are requiring a certified Commissioning provider on projects and some RFP/RFQ’s have even specified the CCP as a recognized certification or, in some cases, the only certification accepted.
