CCP Recertification

Requirements

Certified persons are required to show evidence of continued competence, demonstrated by continued work experience and other related professional development activities.

Certified Persons must participate in one (1) commissioning project and earn a total of 50 points over the course of three (3) years.

Of the 50 points 25 must be earned from continuing education and the second 25 points can be earned through various options.

Only CEs that include proof of attendance from a third party and are related to the building industry will qualify.  CE earned for a certified person’s PE license or other certifications also qualify for the BCCB recertifications.

CCPs are responsible for planning and meeting recertification requirements prior to the expiration date.  Automated notification begins 90 days prior to the expiration date.  CCPs who do not recertify on time will have their certification suspended and will be removed from the CCP registry.  Total credential revocation will follow within six (6) months if recertification requirements are not met and the certified person will be required to reapply to the program.

For details please refer to the CCP Candidate Handbook beginning on page 25.

Below are some examples of free and low-cost options for continuing education.
