CCP certification credentials are valid for a period of three (3) years. CCPs must complete all recertification requirements every three (3) years. Renewal of CCP certification involves completing a recertification application and being approved for recertification by the BCCB.
To be recertified, CCPs must show:
- Evidence of continued competence, as demonstrated by continued work experience
- Continuing education, and/or
- Other related professional development activities as described in the CCP Candidate Handbook.
CCPs are responsible for planning and meeting recertification requirements and recertifying on time prior to the expiration date. CCPs who do not will have their certification suspended. Total credential revocation will follow within 6 months if the recertification requirements are not met.

The BCCB provides an objective and balanced certification awarding service. We adhere to transparent procedures based on ISO/IEC 17024:2012, which contains built-in checks to ensure the objectivity of certification activities.
